Today is about maximum work, then productive rest. When you're working, with the knowledge of rest to follow, you can afford to push a little more into the extreme discomfort zone. Today is essentially an interval workout, with very no high skills required, so see what you can do. When you're resting, make it productive. Chest up, walk around, get ready for the next round.
